so here’s the tee….
In the picturesque city of Waverly, Florida, the seeds of creativity were sown in the heart of a young and vibrant individual. This is where Jessie's love affair began with fashion, the charm that shaped her fate. At the very age of eleven, Talaya Jessie was fascinated by her mother's impeccable sense of style, and this early fascination laid the foundations for her journey as a designer.
Talaya’s official journey into fashion began in 2012 at The Art Institute of Los Angeles, where she studied Fashion Design with a vision to create pieces that spoke louder than trends. But classroom walls couldn’t contain her ambition. While pursuing her degree, she got hands-on experience in the real world—working in bridal production for Katie May, where she learned the power of precision, luxury, and detail. She also dove into the business side of fashion, managing wholesale marketing efforts for Big Buddha, a contemporary accessories brand that helped sharpen her eye for what sells and why.
After graduating, she returned to Florida and produced charity fashion shows in Tallahassee, blending art and advocacy. These events were more than just showcases; they were stages for emerging talent and heartfelt causes, particularly raising awareness about domestic violence.
Over the years, Talaya honed her craft, designing bespoke garments that caught the eyes of stylists, editors, and style lovers alike. Her designs made their way into print, but it was in 2023 that she experienced a major milestone: collaborating with Flying Solo and debuting at New York Fashion Week. Her collection, Full Bloom, was a vibrant expression of personal evolution—fusing bold color blocking, high-low hems, and a modern take on suiting that brought fresh energy to women's workwear.
Based in Atlanta today, Talaya Jessie continues to shape the fashion landscape with designs marked by a dynamic interplay of shapes within shapes, infusing classic silhouettes with bold expression. Whether she's tailoring a new look or encouraging other through her creativity, she leads with intention, faith, and flair—and she’s just getting started.
